European Health Insurance CardWith everyone wanting to go abroad, something you may not have thought about is your health and what happens if something goes wrong. You may benefit from having a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), these are free and could save you heartache, especially if you are visiting a country in the EEA or Switzerland.

Applying for one is painless and quick, you should receive one with in 7 days, you can apply online here or to apply by phone, call 0845 606 2030

To apply by post, pick up the EHIC form and pre-addressed envelope from the Post Office, send your completed application form to:

Important changes to healthcare cover in Europe

The EHIC has replaced the old E111. From 1 January 2006, E111s are no longer valid. The quickest and easiest way to get an EHIC is to apply online.
